This story is fascinating to me as I’m currently writing up my own adventure through an area of Wales close to my heart, hoping to tell its a story of language and culture through the landscape.

Local describes Alastairs most recent take on adventure, an attempt to become more observant and find curiosity near by and common places.
I’m a big believer that so much of the awe, wonder and curiosity that accompanies adventure derives from mindset and attention to detail during a journey. I’ve tried to embedd this way of thinking into many of my adventures, delving into the detail instead of seeking out grander landscapes. I find it hard to keep my mind focused in this manner, and it’s certainly a skill I’m working on.
I’ve been a huge fan of Alastair for a long time, and it’s his books, podcasts and blog that have helped me find my own ideas and inspiration for adventure. It was an absolute pleasure to meet him again and I can’t wait to get stuck into the new book!
