Overview

The Song Of Achilles is a retelling of Homer’s Iliad from the point of view of Patroclus. Miller’s take on the famous Poem engages the reader to be fully invested in the untold love story between Achilles and Patroclus as they grow up together and eventually live out the 10-year Trojan war.

Thoughts

Having begun the book with zero Greek mythological knowledge, this book was a true gateway to a whole new world for me. I suspect that had the story been a standalone and entirely original piece of work, I would have scored it far lower. However, since finishing, I have delved deeper into this literature and have loved discovering more about the context and backstory. The story is engaging, exciting and a joy to read.
